How much is five years of your life worth to you?

All the countries with national health care systems show life expectancies of five years or more longer than that of the US. So which would you rather have, five years of your life or spend two hundred and seventy five million dollars a day on a civil war between two branches of the Moslem religion for control of their country (Which just as a matter of record was not even a supplier of oil to the US).
