I understand that their is such thing as a Muslim-Hindu. Please explain how their beliefs are affected.?

I am trying to understand, from a cultural standpoint, how to ist Muslims and Hindus in preventing polio transmission in India. I realize Hindus bathe in the Ganges, but do the Muslims as well?
