How would you clify my singing voice?
If you can sing contralto you are almost definitely not a coloratura soprano. Anything coloratura tends to be higher and faster, which does sound like the type of voice you are describing. And to be perfectly honest, range isn't always a factor. For a lot of people it depends on repertoire, so yes, there's a lot of guessing at first. But from what you've told me, I would guess (depending on the tone and comfort level, and I've never heard you, so this may or may not be accurate) that you are a mezzo-soprano. You have some higher notes, but your sound may be darker and you can hit plenty of low notes. "Dramatic", "lyric", etc; all these titles mean is the color of the tone. It has almost nothing to do with the range itself.
