Should I try to dress more heavy metal?

Right now I dress mostly in brands like Hilfiger, Banana Republic, J Crew and such. Never black; rather light colors like yellow and pastels. The next time I'm at the mall, should I visit a Hot Topic so I can try to look a heavy metal fan. What kind of band shirts should I get? I mean what bands?
